Having a party? You need a photo booth!
You'll have more fun than you can imagine if you throw a photo booth in the mix. Leave out some funky props and let people release their inner party animals. It's perfect for Halloween, Christmas, and it will surely be the talk of the water cooler if you have this at your next company party. Any event can be a blast with one of these. They are becoming more popular at wedding receptions and kids parties. You'll look back on there photos and always chuckle. Just a fun idea and the possibilities are endless as far as how you decide to set it up.

Baby Cole Cake Smash!!
This session with my friends baby, Cole, was so much fun. It was a long anticipated cake smash. We'd been speculating for days about how he'd handle the cake. Our assumptions were right on. As soon as mom put the cake on the floor he was IN IT! Both hands dug right in and he started examining what was now all over his hands. He didn't seem bothered by in in the least and continued right on with the destruction. It was almost as fun to watch as it was to photograph. He'd slap both hands in it then wipe the frosting on his legs and then taste a little in his mouth. The balloons made for a great addition to the simple backdrop and mom really liked the idea. Hey! It's not a party without some balloons! We let him destroy the cake for about 15 minutes before he'd had enough. Mom promptly took him to the tub for clean up and I'm not going to lie...I ate some cake off the backdrop before the breakdown and clean up.
Here's some information that would be useful in the future if you plan a cake smash. Publics will GIVE you a FREE smash cake if you order a regular cake or a cupcake cake. I didn't know that! Who doesn't want a free smash cake? Can I get one from my 32nd birthday?! Wouldn't that be a shot....adult cake smashes...I could start a new trend lol!

Bubbles make EVERYTHING better!
We let Brayden loose to indulge his 2 year old energy. I'd chase him around and try to be interesting and see if he'd check me out. He wasn't really interested and barely flinched when you'd call his name. So I had to break out the big guns. BUBBLES!! It's my secret weapon and you can pretty much find them in my car at any given time. Adults probably think I'm weird. I've found that bubbles do a few things for photos.
1. They make them look magical
2. Slow the kids down so you can get a good shot
3. and most important, KIDS LOVE THEM!
There are other things I've learned about bubbles too that you might need to know if you plan on busting them out on the playground in hopes of capturing some magic with you kids.
1. It's SUPER important to have some "Decoy Bubbles" because let me tell you, as soon as one kid screams "BUBBLES!!" the entire playground will shift and there will be a million kids in your shot trying to get in on some bubble action. There is a simple remedy to this. Bring a small thing of extra bubbles and let a parent for the other kids take it to use else where on the playground. Problem solved.
2. It's helpful to bring an old shirt or towel because bubbles tend to get messy and you want to be able to clean up afterwords. There is only so much bubble solution one can rub on there jeans without feeling really gross.
So in a nut shell what did we learn today?...BUBBLES + a great playground=GREAT KID PHOTOS!
